Ahamed Seguya Memorial Technical Institute (ASMTI) is  a government aided Technical institution established in 1989 to cater for the technical skills to  those who do not join higher academics from primary level, Ordinary level, Advanced level and those coming from university but need some technical skills  to do their jobs.

Formal and non formal courses

The formal certificates courses are assessed by Uganda Business Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) while non-formal are assessed by Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT).

Electrical Installation

This course teaches students how to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems. It includes wiring, fixing faults, and using electrical tools safely. Graduates can work as electricians or become self-employed

Building Construction

This course teaches students how to build and maintain structures like houses and buildings. It covers masonry, reading drawings, and using construction tools safely. Graduates can work on construction sites or start their own building projects.

Fashion and Garment Design

This course teaches students how to design and make clothing. It includes tailoring, cutting, sewing, and basic fashion skills. Graduates can work in fashion shops or start their own businesses.

Agriculture

This course teaches students how to grow crops and rear animals for food and income. It includes farming methods, soil care, and basic animal management. Graduates can work in farming or start their own agricultural businesses.

Catering

This course teaches students how to prepare and serve food in a clean and professional way. It includes cooking skills, kitchen hygiene, and basic food service. Graduates can work in hotels or start their own catering businesses.

Plumbing

This course teaches students how to install and repair water and drainage systems. It includes pipe fitting, fixing leaks, and using plumbing tools safely. Graduates can work on construction sites or start their own plumbing services.

Wood Work

This course teaches students how to make and repair wooden items like furniture. It includes carpentry skills, measuring, cutting, and using tools safely. Graduates can work in workshops or start their own carpentry businesses.

Hair Dressing

This course teaches students how to style, cut, and treat hair professionally. It includes basic salon skills, hair care, and customer service. Graduates can work in salons or start their own beauty businesses.

Automotive Mechanics

This course teaches students how to repair and maintain motor vehicles. It includes engine servicing, fault diagnosis, and using mechanical tools safely. Graduates can work in garages or start their own mechanic businesses.
